Taylor guitars are one of the two big guitar makers in the United States (the other being Martin Guitars). Taylor guitars was formed in 1974 by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug. To this day they remain one of the top brand choices for guitar pros and those starting out.
Taylor Guitars have always been my top choice. The action is smooth and nice and they are a breeze to play. They also produce the most pleasant acoustic sound I have ever heard. They really shine when running through a pickup. Some acoustic electric guitars sound twangy and fake when amplified. But Taylors sound just as beautiful plugged in as they do unplugged.
Acoustic-Electric Taylor guitars utilize their own pickup system called the “Expression System.” This unique system mounts the humbucking pickup on the neck. The result creates the incredibly accurate sound heard through an amp.
Taylor Guitars – Which One Should I Buy?
There are so many different Taylor Guitar models that it can seem stressful when looking to buy. While Taylor does sell electric guitars, Taylor’s acoustic guitars are more famous.
I have a few choice models that I prefer. The first one is the Taylor 414CE (or Taylor 314CE). This model is the standard choice for most guitar players. You can check out what I think of them by clicking the links below:
Another common choice is the Taylor Big Baby Acoustic Guitar. This is the cheaper route if you would like to test the waters with Taylor Guitars. Click the link below to read my review of that acoustic guitar:
